Qualifications:

• High School Diploma; Pursuing Bachelor's Degree or Higher
• Posesses a high degree of Integrity 
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills 
• Responsible for own transportation

 

Job Goal: Team Scholastics Tutors will assist team students in academic subjects in order to develop habits of mind and higher standards of academic achievement, which will increase postsecondary educational options. Team Tutors will be trained in the use of research based strategies to enhance academic performance of Team students and serve as role models and mentors.

 

Reports To: Building Principal

 

Performance Responsibilities:

• Attend paid tutoring session to learn research based practices for facilitating small group tutoring.
• Serve as a positive role model/mentor to students.
• Collaborate with Scholastics teacher and students to determine the concepts to teach or reteach.
• Assist in the development and preparation of instructional materials for tutorial sessions.
• Review the performance and work of students in tutorial.
• Meet and communicate with the Team Scholastics coordinator and/or teachers regarding student progress, course outlines, and assignment schedules.
• Communicate frequently and honestly with the Team Scholastics coordinator/teacher regarding student progress and areas of concern. 
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
